Perched on the northeastern tip of Chappaquiddick Island, Cape Poge Light has guided mariners since 1893. This 35-foot white wooden tower stands within the Cape Poge Wildlife Refuge, a pristine barrier beach ecosystem managed by The Trustees of Reservations.

The lighthouse remains an active navigational aid but is not open to public climbing. However, visitors can admire it from the surrounding refuge trails and beaches. For photography, golden hour during summer months offers stunning shots with the lighthouse silhouetted against Nantucket Sound.

Nearby attractions include Mytoi Japanese Garden, the Chappaquiddick Ferry from Edgartown, and excellent opportunities for beachcombing, birding, and fishing along the refuge’s undeveloped shoreline.
