Standing sentinel at the entrance to Edgartown Harbor on Martha’s Vineyard, this iconic white lighthouse has guided mariners since 1881. The current cast-iron tower was actually relocated here from Crane Beach in Ipswich in 1939, replacing the original wooden structure.

The lighthouse remains an active aid to navigation, its light visible for miles across Nantucket Sound. While the tower is not open for climbing, the surrounding grounds offer excellent views. Photographers find golden hour and sunset ideal, with the lighthouse framed against the harbor and Chappaquiddick Island.
