Standing at the entrance to Nantucket Harbor, Brant Point Light has guided mariners since 1746, making its location one of the oldest lighthouse sites in America. The current structure, built in 1901, is the tenth lighthouse to occupy this spot—previous versions succumbed to fire, storms, and decay.

This compact wooden tower remains an active navigational aid operated by the U.S. Coast Guard. While visitors cannot enter or climb the lighthouse, the surrounding beach offers excellent viewing. The best photography opportunities occur during golden hour, when warm light illuminates the tower against the harbor.

Nearby, explore Nantucket’s cobblestone downtown, the Whaling Museum, and scenic Jetties Beach. Ferry passengers enjoy close-up views when arriving or departing the island.
