Perched on Nantucket’s eastern bluffs, Sankaty Head Light has guided mariners since 1850. This striking red-and-white striped beacon stands as one of New England’s most photographed lighthouses. In 2007, the tower was dramatically moved 400 feet inland to save it from eroding cliffs—a testament to the community’s dedication to preserving this historic landmark.
