Nobska Light
Massachusetts
Nobska Light stands proudly on the southwestern tip of Cape Cod in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Built in 1876, this iconic 40-foot lighthouse has guided mariners through the treacherous waters of Vineyard Sound for nearly 150 years. The tower’s distinctive white exterior and red-roofed keeper’s house make it one of Cape Cod’s most photographed landmarks.
While the lighthouse remains active and is not open for interior tours, the surrounding grounds offer spectacular views of Martha’s Vineyard and the Elizabeth Islands. Photographers favor golden hour and sunset for dramatic shots. Nearby attractions include the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, ferries to Martha’s Vineyard, and the charming village of Falmouth with its beaches and dining options.
