Ambrose Light stands as a striking maritime landmark in Lower New York Bay, marking the entrance to the Ambrose Channel that guides vessels into New York Harbor. Built in 1967, this distinctive red tower replaced the historic Ambrose Lightship that had served mariners since 1908. The structure is notable for its Texas Tower-style platform design, one of only a few such offshore lighthouses on the East Coast.

The lighthouse is no longer active and is not open to the public—visitors cannot climb or access the structure. Best photography opportunities come from boat tours departing Sandy Hook or Brooklyn, with golden hour light creating dramatic silhouettes. Nearby attractions include the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and Sandy Hook National Recreation Area.
