This is a park built for anglers and paddlers — the lake’s shallow, warm waters produce excellent catches of largemouth bass, channel catfish, and bluegill, while its calm surface makes it ideal for canoeing and kayaking. A 10-horsepower motor limit keeps things peaceful on the water.

On land, hikers can explore trails that wind through mature hardwood forest and open meadows, where wildflowers put on a show from spring through early fall.
