Standing on the shores of Trinity Bay, Texas, the Trinity River Light was constructed in 1900 to guide vessels navigating the bay’s shallow, treacherous waters. The modest tower served mariners during a period of growing coastal commerce along the upper Texas Gulf Coast. Now deactivated, the lighthouse stands as a quiet relic of the region’s maritime heritage.
The light is not open to the public, and visitors cannot climb the tower. However, it can be viewed and photographed from nearby shoreline areas. Golden hour and early morning offer the best light for photography, with the bay providing a dramatic backdrop.
Nearby attractions include Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge, the Chambers County Museum, and the waterfront community of Anahuac.
