Galveston Jetty Light (North)

Built in 1897, the Galveston North Jetty Light marks the entrance to Galveston Harbor along the massive granite jetties constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This cast-iron tower has guided vessels through one of Texas’s busiest shipping channels for over a century and remains an active aid to navigation maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard.

The light is not open to the public and cannot be climbed, but it’s easily photographed from the South Jetty, the Galveston Seawall, or by boat. Golden hour and sunrise offer the best lighting conditions.
