Located on the shores of San Francisco, California, Point Knox Light was built in 1900 to guide maritime traffic through the Bay’s treacherous waters. Though no longer an active navigational aid, the lighthouse remains a striking piece of California’s maritime heritage. The structure is not open to the public and cannot be climbed, but its exterior and surroundings offer plenty to appreciate from a distance.
