Point Blunt Light

Perched on the southeastern tip of Angel Island in San Francisco Bay, Point Blunt Light has guided mariners since 1915. This modest yet charming navigational aid marks the narrow channel between Angel Island and Tiburon, helping vessels safely navigate the bay’s busy waters. The light remains an active aid to navigation maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard.

The station is not open to the public for climbing, but visitors to Angel Island State Park can view it from nearby trails. Golden hour and foggy mornings offer the best photography conditions, with the San Francisco skyline as a dramatic backdrop.

Nearby attractions include Angel Island’s Immigration Station, hiking trails, and ferry access from Tiburon and San Francisco.
