Built in 1880 on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, this historic rear range light guided ships through the treacherous waters of Calibogue Sound. The iron skeletal tower served as part of a range light system, pairing with a front light to help mariners navigate the channel safely. Decommissioned and no longer active, the lighthouse is not open to the public for climbing, though it can be viewed and photographed from nearby areas.
