Standing on the southern tip of Daufuskie Island, South Carolina, this historic lighthouse was built in 1883 to guide vessels through the treacherous Bloody Point shoals in Calibogue Sound. The rear range light worked in tandem with a front light to help mariners navigate the narrow channel. Decommissioned and no longer active, the tower is not open to the public, but visitors can view it from nearby paths on the island. Golden hour provides the best photography, with Spanish moss and maritime forest framing the weathered structure.
