Skidaway Island State Park

Tucked beneath a canopy of live oaks draped in Spanish moss, Skidaway Island State Park offers 588 acres of Georgia’s Lowcountry at its most atmospheric. The park’s real draw is its network of nature trails winding through pristine maritime forest and along the edge of the Skidaway Narrows. The Big Ferry Nature Trail and Sandpiper Trail deliver boardwalk views over tidal marshes where fiddler crabs scatter by the thousands and wading birds hunt in the shallows. Birders come for painted buntings in spring and migrating shorebirds in fall. Kayakers and paddleboarders can launch into the Intracoastal Waterway for close encounters with dolphins and osprey.

The campground features well-shaded sites with full hookups for RVs alongside tent-friendly spots, all set under towering pines. A pioneer campground serves group outings.
