Galloo Island Light stands on remote Galloo Island in eastern Lake Ontario near Hounsfield, New York. Built in 1820, it is one of the oldest surviving lighthouses on the Great Lakes. The stone tower has guided mariners through treacherous waters for over two centuries and remains an active navigational aid maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard.

The lighthouse is not open to the public, as Galloo Island is privately owned with limited access. Photographers can capture striking images from charter boats, with golden hour in late summer offering the best light against the open lake backdrop.
