Southwick Beach State Park sits along the eastern shore of Lake Ontario in the Thousand Islands region of New York, where 541 acres of sandy beach, dunes, and wetlands meet one of the Great Lakes. Established in 1966, the park protects a rare barrier beach ecosystem — one of the few remaining undeveloped stretches of Lake Ontario shoreline.
