Perched on the rocky southern tip of Conanicut Island in Jamestown, Rhode Island, Beavertail Lighthouse stands as the third-oldest lighthouse site in North America. Originally constructed in 1749, the current granite tower dates to 1856 after fires destroyed earlier structures.

This active lighthouse remains a working aid to navigation, guiding vessels through Narragansett Bay. While the tower itself is closed to public climbing, the surrounding Beavertail State Park offers spectacular coastal views and a small museum in the former assistant keeper’s house.
