Old Harbor Light (Savannah Harbor Light)

Standing guard over Savannah’s riverfront since 1858, this historic beacon has guided vessels through one of the South’s busiest shipping channels for over 165 years. The light remains active as a navigational aid, a testament to its enduring importance to maritime commerce along the Georgia coast.

Though not open to public climbing, the lighthouse is best admired from the surrounding waterfront areas. Golden hour and early morning provide the most dramatic photography, with the tower silhouetted against Savannah’s iconic skyline.

Visitors can easily pair a visit with nearby River Street’s cobblestone shops and restaurants, the Savannah Historic District’s famous squares, and Fort Pulaski National Monument, all within a short drive.
