Sabin Point Light stands at the mouth of the Providence River in Rhode Island, where it has marked the channel since 1872. This spark-plug style lighthouse guided mariners through the busy waters connecting Providence to Narragansett Bay for over a century before being deactivated.
The lighthouse is not open to the public and cannot be climbed, as it sits on a concrete foundation in the water. However, it remains a beloved landmark visible from Sabin Point Park on the East Providence shoreline.
For photography, visit during golden hour when the lighthouse silhouettes beautifully against the bay. Nearby attractions include the East Bay Bike Path, Squantum Woods State Park, and downtown Providence’s waterfront dining and cultural sites.
