Presque Isle Light
Standing guard over Lake Erie’s shores since 1873, Presque Isle Light marks the entrance to Presque Isle Bay in Pennsylvania. This active square tower lighthouse replaced an earlier beacon and continues guiding vessels today under Coast Guard operation. Its distinctive red-brick construction and attached keeper’s quarters make it one of the most photographed landmarks on the peninsula. While the lighthouse is not open to the public for climbing, visitors can admire it from the surrounding grounds and nearby trails within Presque Isle State Park. Golden hour offers the best photography, with warm light reflecting off both the tower and the lake. Nearby, enjoy seven miles of sandy beaches, kayaking, birding, and the Tom Ridge Environmental Center.
