Standing in Lewes, Delaware, this historic lighthouse was built in 1881 as part of a range light system guiding vessels through the Delaware Breakwater harbor of refuge. The rear range light worked in tandem with a front light, helping mariners align their approach through the busy Delaware Bay.

The lighthouse is no longer active and is not open to the public, so visitors cannot climb the tower. However, it remains a compelling sight from the surrounding area.
