Coquille River Light

Coquille River Light

Oregon

Standing at the mouth of the Coquille River in Bandon, Oregon, this striking lighthouse was built in 1896 to guide vessels through the treacherous river entrance. Decommissioned in 1939 after shifting sands rendered it less effective, the tower was restored and now serves as an interpretive center within Bullards Beach State Park. While visitors cannot climb the tower, the ground-level exhibits are open seasonally. The lighthouse is a photographer’s dream — golden hour and dramatic winter storms create stunning compositions against the rugged coastline. Nearby, explore Bandon’s famous sea stacks at Face Rock Beach, the charming Old Town shops, and the world-renowned Bandon Dunes Golf Resort just minutes north.
