Love Point Light
Chesapeake Bay · Maryland
Built in 1872, Love Point Light guided mariners navigating the upper Chesapeake Bay near the northern tip of Kent Island. The caisson-style lighthouse served as a critical aid to navigation for vessels traveling between Baltimore and the Eastern Shore. Decommissioned and no longer active, the structure stands in the Bay and is not open to the public — visitors cannot climb the tower. It’s best viewed and photographed from the shoreline at Love Point Park during golden hour, when the light catches the weathered caisson beautifully. Nearby, explore the charming town of Stevensville, cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge for dramatic views, or enjoy Kent Island’s waterfront dining and kayaking along the Chester River.
