Point Judith Light

Standing sentinel at the entrance to Narragansett Bay since 1810, Point Judith Light has guided mariners safely past one of New England’s most treacherous coastlines for over two centuries. This octagonal granite tower, with its distinctive brown and white daymark, remains an active aid to navigation operated by the U.S. Coast Guard.

While the lighthouse grounds are not open to the public for climbing, visitors can walk the surrounding area and photograph the tower from multiple vantage points. Golden hour provides spectacular lighting, with sunset shots particularly stunning as the beacon begins its nightly watch.

Nearby, explore Scarborough State Beach, sample fresh seafood at Galilee’s fishing village, or catch the Block Island Ferry departing just steps away.
