Ned Point Light
Buzzards Bay · Massachusetts
Perched on the scenic shores of Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, Ned Point Light has guided mariners through Buzzards Bay since 1838. This historic white stone tower, one of the oldest lighthouses on the bay, remains an active aid to navigation under Coast Guard operation.
While the lighthouse itself is closed to public climbing, the surrounding Ned Point Park offers excellent grounds for exploration. The site provides stunning views of the bay and harbor, making it a favorite spot for photographers—golden hour and foggy mornings yield particularly dramatic shots.
Nearby, visitors can explore Mattapoisett’s charming village center, stroll the town wharf, or visit the Mattapoisett Historical Society. The area’s beaches and waterfront dining complete a perfect coastal day trip.
