Wind Point Light
Wind Point · Wisconsin
Wind Point Light stands on the shores of Lake Michigan in Racine, Wisconsin, where it has guided mariners since 1880. Rising 108 feet, it ranks among the oldest and tallest active lighthouses on the Great Lakes. The tower’s classic white cylindrical design and its striking lakefront setting make it one of Wisconsin’s most photographed landmarks. While the grounds are open to visitors, the tower itself is not open to the public for climbing. Golden hour offers the best photography, with the lighthouse glowing against Lake Michigan sunsets. Nearby, visitors can explore Racine’s historic downtown, the Wingspread estate designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and the scenic North Beach — one of Lake Michigan’s finest stretches of sand.
