Kenosha North Pier Light stands at the entrance to Kenosha Harbor on Lake Michigan’s western shore. Built in 1848, it is one of Wisconsin’s oldest surviving lighthouses, guiding vessels safely into port for over 175 years. The striking red pierhead tower remains an active navigational aid maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard. While the lighthouse is not open to the public for climbing, it makes a compelling subject from the nearby pier and harbor walkways. Golden hour and early morning offer the best photography conditions, with dramatic lake light behind the tower. Visitors can explore the nearby Kenosha Public Museum, Simmons Island Beach, the historic Electric Streetcar loop, and the charming HarborPark district along the waterfront.
