Rising from the waters off Harsens Island, Michigan, the St. Clair Flats Range Lights have guided vessels through the shallow St. Clair Flats shipping channel since 1859. These matching wooden lighthouses — a front and rear range pair — are among the oldest surviving range lights on the Great Lakes. Still active aids to navigation, their aligned beams help freighter captains maintain course through the narrow channel.
