Ona Beach State Park sits where Beaver Creek meets the Pacific Ocean on Oregon’s central coast, just south of Newport. This day-use park offers one of the region’s most accessible and scenic creek-to-ocean beach experiences, making it a favorite for families and kayakers alike.

The park’s standout feature is Beaver Creek itself — a calm, tidal waterway perfect for kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding. Paddle upstream through a peaceful corridor of Sitka spruce and alder, or time your visit with the tide to float effortlessly back toward the beach. Where the creek empties into the ocean, a broad sandy beach opens up with tide pools, driftwood, and reliable beachcombing.

A pedestrian bridge connects the picnic area to the beach, crossing over Beaver Creek with views in both directions. The grassy day-use area includes picnic tables, restrooms, and enough space for kids to run. Fishing for cutthroat trout and steelhead draws anglers to the creek seasonally.

Ona Beach is day-use only — no camping is available on-site. For overnight stays, nearby South Beach State Park and Beverly Beach State Park both offer full campgrounds within a short drive.
