Yaquina Bay Light

Yaquina Bay Light

Oregon

Perched on a bluff overlooking Yaquina Bay in Newport, Oregon, Yaquina Bay Light (1871) is the only existing Oregon lighthouse with its light tower attached to the keeper’s quarters. Decommissioned after just three years of service, it’s one of the shortest-lived lighthouses on the Pacific Coast. The structure was restored and now operates as a museum — visitors can explore the furnished interior, though the tower itself is not open for climbing. Golden hour provides the best photography, with the Yaquina Bay Bridge framing dramatic backdrops. Nearby, explore the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Nye Beach’s shops and galleries, and the tide pools at Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area just minutes north.
