Stretching across four Maryland counties — Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, and Howard — Patapsco Valley State Park follows the winding Patapsco River through more than 14,000 acres of forested valleys, rocky ridgelines, and historic mill towns. Spring wildflower season and fall foliage are the standout times to visit, though summer swimming holes near the river keep the park busy year-round. Winter hiking offers solitude and striking bare-canopy views of the valley.
