Standing in Edgemere, Maryland, this historic rear range light was built in 1886 to guide vessels through the Craighill Channel in upper Chesapeake Bay. It works in tandem with its front range light, helping mariners align their approach along a safe corridor. The skeletal iron tower remains an active navigational aid maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard, making it one of the Bay’s longest-serving lighthouses.
