Perched on the rugged western shore of Lake Tahoe near South Lake Tahoe, California, Rubicon Point Light was built in 1919 to guide steamships navigating the lake’s deep waters. This modest concrete lighthouse marks one of Tahoe’s deepest points, where the lake plunges over 1,400 feet. Though no longer active and closed to public access, the light remains a prized sight for hikers along the Rubicon Trail in D.L. Bliss State Park.
