Pelican Bay Light (Port of Brookings Light)

Standing at the Port of Brookings Harbor in southern Oregon, Pelican Bay Light has guided mariners since 1997. This modern, active aid to navigation marks the entrance to the Chetco River and Brookings Harbor, one of Oregon’s safest ports. While not a towering historic sentinel, the light is notable as one of the newer additions to Oregon’s coastal lighting system. The station is not open to the public for climbing, but photographers can capture striking shots from the harbor jetty, especially during golden hour or winter storm season when dramatic waves crash nearby. Visitors should explore nearby Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor, Harris Beach State Park, and the charming downtown Brookings waterfront.
