Standing at the tip of Minnesota Point in Duluth, this 1858 lighthouse is one of Minnesota’s oldest surviving light stations. Built to guide vessels through the narrow entry into Superior Bay, it served mariners during the region’s booming lumber and iron ore shipping era before being decommissioned.

The brick tower is notable as a rare pre-Civil War lighthouse on the Great Lakes. It is not open to the public and cannot be climbed, but visitors can view it from the surrounding Minnesota Point pine forest via a sandy trail.
