Standing at the mouth of the Connecticut River in Old Saybrook, Lynde Point Light has guided mariners since 1803, making it one of Connecticut’s oldest lighthouses. The current brownstone tower, rebuilt in 1838, rises above the scenic shoreline where the river meets Long Island Sound.

While the lighthouse remains an active navigational aid, it’s not open to public climbing as it sits on private Coast Guard property. Visitors can admire it from the water or nearby shorelines.
