Key West Light

Standing at the southernmost point of the Florida Keys, Key West Light has guided mariners since its construction in 1826, making it one of Florida’s earliest lighthouses. The original tower was destroyed by a hurricane in 1846 and rebuilt shortly after on higher ground. Though no longer an active navigational aid and currently closed to public access, the lighthouse remains a striking landmark against Key West’s tropical skyline. Its white tower is best photographed during golden hour, when warm light contrasts beautifully with the surrounding palm trees. Nearby, visitors can explore the Key West Butterfly &038; Nature Conservatory, Mallory Square’s nightly sunset celebration, and the Harry S. Truman Little White House, all within easy walking distance.
