Northwest Passage Light
Florida
Built in 1855, Northwest Passage Light stands along the shores of Key West, Florida, serving as a historic maritime beacon that once guided vessels through the treacherous coastal waters of the Florida Keys. Though no longer an active navigational aid, the lighthouse remains a striking architectural landmark from the pre-Civil War era, reflecting the region’s rich seafaring heritage.
The lighthouse is not open to the public, so visitors cannot climb the tower. However, it makes an excellent photography subject, particularly during golden hour at sunset when warm light illuminates the structure against dramatic tropical skies.
Nearby attractions include the Key West Historic Seaport, Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, Fort Zachary Taylor, and the vibrant shops and restaurants along Duval Street.
