The Millmont Red Bridge, built in 1855, stands as one of Pennsylvania’s historic covered bridges in the small community of Millmont. This classic Burr truss design—combining an arch with a multiple kingpost truss—was the preferred construction method for covered bridges in the region during the mid-19th century.

The bridge features the traditional red paint that gives it its name, characteristic of many Pennsylvania covered bridges. Unfortunately, the structure is now permanently closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic due to structural concerns.

Visiting Tips: While you cannot cross the bridge, it remains a worthwhile photography destination. The best views are from the creek banks on either side. Visit during autumn for vibrant foliage framing the red exterior, or after snowfall for striking contrast.
