This historic covered bridge, built in 1878, spans a scenic waterway in Snyder County using the distinctive Burr arch truss design—a combination of a multiple kingpost truss with reinforcing arches that became Pennsylvania’s signature covered bridge style.

Visiting Tips: The bridge remains an active roadway, so exercise caution when stopping for photos. For the best shots, arrive during golden hour when light filters through the portal openings. The surrounding rural landscape offers excellent framing opportunities from either approach. Consider visiting in autumn when fall foliage creates a stunning backdrop against the weathered wooden structure.
