Built in 1892, Greenbury Point Shoal Light (Second) marked the dangerous shoals near the mouth of the Severn River where it meets the Chesapeake Bay. This caisson-style lighthouse replaced an earlier structure and guided mariners safely past the shallow waters surrounding Greenbury Point for decades. Now deactivated, the light stands as a quiet sentinel in Annapolis Harbor. The lighthouse is not open to the public and cannot be climbed, but it remains a striking subject for photographers — golden hour and early morning light from the Annapolis waterfront offer the best shots.
