This historic Burr arch truss covered bridge has spanned its crossing since 1875, making it nearly 150 years old. The Burr arch design—combining a traditional multiple kingpost truss with reinforcing arches—was popular throughout Pennsylvania for its exceptional strength and durability.

Current Status: Open to traffic. Drive through carefully and watch for oncoming vehicles, as the single-lane bridge requires yielding.

Visiting Tips: Best photographed in early morning or late afternoon when soft light illuminates the weathered wooden siding. Park safely off the roadway. Fall foliage creates a stunning backdrop. Listen for the distinctive rumble of wooden planks as vehicles cross—a sound unchanged since the 19th century.
