Standing guard over Stamford Harbor since 1882, this charming Victorian-era lighthouse sits on a stone caisson in Long Island Sound. The spark-plug style structure features distinctive red and white bands, making it one of Connecticut’s most photographed maritime landmarks.

Though the light remains active as a navigational aid, the lighthouse is not open to public access. Visitors cannot climb the tower, but excellent views are available from boat tours departing Stamford’s downtown waterfront.

Best Photography: Golden hour and sunset provide dramatic backdrops against the Sound’s waters. Charter boats offer the closest vantage points.
