Rising 119 feet above the rugged Maine coast, Petit Manan Light stands as the second-tallest lighthouse in the state. Built in 1817 on a remote island in Petit Manan National Wildlife Refuge near Milbridge, the granite tower was reconstructed in 1855 to its current impressive height.

The lighthouse remains an active aid to navigation, guiding vessels through treacherous waters. While the island is closed to public access and climbing is not permitted, visitors can view the striking tower by boat. The best photography opportunities occur during golden hour or when dramatic fog rolls across the bay.
