Rising from the waters of Frenchman Bay, Maine, Crabtree Ledge Light has stood watch since 1890. This spark-plug style lighthouse was built to guide vessels navigating the busy shipping lanes near Bar Harbor. The compact cast-iron tower sits atop a concrete caisson foundation, a classic example of late 19th-century maritime engineering.

Now deactivated, the lighthouse is not open to the public and cannot be climbed. However, it remains a popular subject for photographers, with golden hour offering the best lighting against the bay’s backdrop.

Visitors can view Crabtree Ledge Light by boat from Bar Harbor. Nearby attractions include Acadia National Park, with its scenic carriage roads and Cadillac Mountain summit views.
