Standing guard at the entrance to Port Washington’s harbor on Lake Michigan, this historic lighthouse has guided mariners since 1889. The compact Art Deco–style tower, perched at the end of a concrete breakwater, replaced an earlier structure and remains an active navigational aid maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard.

Though not open to the public for climbing, the lighthouse is a beloved local landmark easily viewed from the harbor and marina. Golden hour and early morning offer the best photography, with dramatic lakefront backdrops.
