Sheboygan Lighthouse

Standing guard over Lake Michigan since 1839, the Sheboygan Lighthouse is one of Wisconsin’s earliest navigational aids. Originally built to guide vessels into the Sheboygan River harbor, the lighthouse has been rebuilt and modified several times throughout its history while remaining an active aid to navigation under U.S. Coast Guard operation.

The lighthouse is not open to the public, but its striking lakefront setting makes it a popular photography subject. Golden hour and stormy autumn skies offer the most dramatic shots. The surrounding breakwater provides excellent vantage points.
