Eagle Harbor Range Lights

Built in 1877 on the shores of Lake Superior, the Eagle Harbor Range Lights guided vessels safely into Eagle Harbor along Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula. The pair of lights — a front and rear range — worked in alignment to mark the harbor channel, a system still active today. Their wooden construction and intimate scale make them distinctive among Great Lakes lighthouses. The lights are not open to the public and cannot be climbed, but they’re easily viewed and photographed from nearby roads and shoreline. Golden hour on summer evenings casts warm light against Lake Superior for stunning shots.
