Viva Naughton Trail sits 16 miles north of Kemmerer in western Wyoming, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This area centers on winter recreation, featuring 4 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails suited for beginner and intermediate skiers. The trailhead also connects to 343 miles of groomed snowmobile trails winding through the Wyoming Range, offering deep powder and expansive backcountry terrain.

Beyond winter sports, the surrounding landscape provides excellent wildlife viewing and photography opportunities. The high-elevation terrain of the Wyoming Range supports diverse species, and the relatively remote location means less crowded conditions than more popular destinations.

As BLM land, dispersed camping is generally permitted in the area, allowing visitors to set up camp outside developed sites. Winter campers should come prepared for cold temperatures and significant snowfall. Various facilities are available at the trailhead.

Access requires travel on rural roads that may be challenging in winter conditions; a vehicle suited for snow travel is recommended. The primary season runs from late fall through early spring when snow conditions are optimal for skiing and snowmobiling.
