What it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in character. This is the kind of place where you can spend an unhurried afternoon on the beach, kayak to a quiet cove, and still make it to a farm stand in nearby Shutesbury before dinner.

The sandy swimming beach is the main attraction, staffed by lifeguards during summer months and perfect for families with younger kids. Beyond the shoreline, the park offers hiking trails that wind through mixed hardwood forest, connecting to the larger Wendell State Forest trail network next door.
